Robert Fachini Sr.

Robert Carl Fachini Sr. 1940-2010 SAVOY Robert Carl Fachini, Sr. of Savoy passed away Saturday afternoon while recovering from open heart surgery at Bay State Medical Center. Robert was born on Dec. 11, 1940 in North Adams, to Antonio Giuseppe Fachini of Italy and Edna Bratcher Fachini. He was one of 13 children: Joseph (dec), Antonio Jr. (dec), Elizabeth Lentine, John Fachini, Louis (dec), Edith Maynard, Mary Manchini, Carol (dec), James Fachini, Diane Vattes, Irene Schroeder, Michael (dec). He worked at Pfizer/Specialty Minerals in Adams for 33 years. He retired in 1997. He leaves his wife, Shirley, with whom he had four children; Richard Carl Fachini, Cory Robert Fachini, Shad Antonio Fachini, and Bobbie-Anne Fachini. He is also survived by four children of a prior marriage to Nancy Paro Fachini; Robert Carl Fachini, Jr., Gail Hoogkamp, Darlene Fachini, and Tina Lemaire. He leaves grandchildren: Jennifer Bernier, Robert James Fachini, Kayla Lemaire, Brandon Lemaire, Taylor Wadsworth, Victoria Wadsworth and Reed Carl Fachini, as well as three great-grandchildren: Justin Bernier, Juliana Bernier, and Thomas Kulzer. He will be remembered fondly by many, including long-time friend and father-in-law, Edward O. Hartwig. Mr. Fachini enjoyed stock car racing across the Northeast with his brothers and children. He loved riding motorcycles, snowmobiles, tinkering with old cars and his family. FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours preceding a short memorial service, begin at 10 a.m. on Fri., Oct. 29 in the Guild Room at St. Stephen's Parish 67 East Street in Pittsfield. All are invited to a gathering at the Eagles on Curran Highway in North Adams, from 2 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berkshire County ARC.
