Ruth Hackman Obituary
Born in Rensselaer, NY on June 17, 1921, to Reese Edwards Worden and Margaret Smith Worden, she graduated from Russell Sage in 1943. She worked for The Cornell Emergency Food Commission. She married Stanley Thomas Hackman on October 23, 1943. In 1951, they moved to Pittsfield. She worked for England Brothers, and as a social worker for the Welfare and the Child Protective Departments. She traveled to 16 countries , and to every US state but one. In 1999, she moved to Canaan, NH.
In addition to her husband she is predeceased by her brothers: Reese, Jr., Stanley, Floyd and Howard Worden; her sisters Irma Herrington and Margaret Schroeder; her son-in-law, Dushan Jovanovich. and her great grandson, Michael Dasenbrock. She is survived by four children: Stephen Hackman (Jennifer Congdon) of Orange, NH, Nancy Jovanovich of Canaan, NH, Sandra Wilson (Richard Kielman) of Pittsfield, MA, and Christopher Hackman (Karel) of Brownstown, IL. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She leaves behind her dogs, Daisy and Mitzi.
There will be no calling hours.

Dear Sandy, Nancy, Steven, Chris and extended family, My Sympathies for your loss of an accomplished woman that was also your Mom. We don't become grown adults until we've lost our Moms; I myself have been traveling down that path for the last year. Just remember everything your Mom taught you; she will always be your guiding light.
