Veronica Michaels Obituary
Mrs. Veronica "Ronnie" Michaels, 92, formerly of Euclid Avenue, Pittsfield, passed away Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016, at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center in Lenox, with her family by her side. Born on Aug. 15, 1924, the daughter of Jay and Catherine Brown, she was a 1941 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Ronnie was a receptionist for Dr. Robert Kirvin from 1969 to 1983 and later worked for Dr. David Crall, retiring in 1986.
Family was always most important to her. She loved to knit and took a special joy in making all the hats and mittens for her grandchildren. She always enjoyed watching and attending their sporting events. During the summer, you could always find her working in her beautiful flower garden. On Saturday nights, she never missed a night of dancing at the Stanley Club with her husband and dear friends.
She was a communicant of St. Mark's Church and was a member of the Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Ralph Froio Senior Center.
Mrs. Michaels was predeceased by her husband, F. William "Bill" Michaels, who passed away on Jan. 31, 2005. They were married on April 7, 1945, in Immaculate Conception Church in New Lebanon, N.Y.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia A. Codey, of Pittsfield; a son, William C. Michaels (Laurie), of Dalton; a brother, Charles Brown, of New Lebanon, N.Y.; beloved grandmother to Patrick, Christine and Kevin Codey, Catherine Majka, Maureen Rullo, Erin Miller; and also 13 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son-in-law, John Codey Jr., a sister, Catherine Hoctor, and a brother, Fred Brown.
The family would like to thank the staff at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center for the wonderful care given to Ronnie over the past four years.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mrs. Veronica "Ronnie" Michaels will be Thursday, Dec.r 29, 2016, at 9 a.m., from the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, with at Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Mark's Church at 10 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. David Aufiero, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the John Codey Jimmy Fund Little League Baseball tournament, care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, in her memory. Donations may be made through the Dwyer Funeral Home.

When we cousins were all growing up together, we had so many great family times especially around the holidays. When went into Pittsfield to shop, we always stopped at Aunt Ronnie's and uncle Bill's for tuna fish and buttered macaroni on the way home. Who can forget the clambakes and good food at the farm and all of us going roller skating, playing in the hay or sliding down the hill. All of us "kids" have now grown up and as the years have gone by, we have seen some of our family members pass on. I will always remember Aunt Ronnie for her warmth and quick and hearty laugh! I know that she has joined the rest of the elders and that she is enjoying herself. She will certainly be missed and I am better for having had her in my life as I know everyone who met her also feels. Please accept our sincere condolences as we are unable to attend either the wake or the funeral.

Our condolences to the Codey and Michaels families. We got to know Ronnie at Kimball Farms while our mom was a resident there. Ronnie was a joy to chat with and always made us laugh at a difficult time in our lives. She was a wonderful lady.
