Michael Fenger Obituary

Michael Gerald Fenger of Hardin, Montana, passed away on February 28, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Michael was born in Chester, Montana, on March 1, 1967, to Gerald (Jerry) and Janet (Cockrell Fenger) Henry. He attended Sunday School and Luther League at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Chester. He was confirmed and remained a lifelong member. He graduated from Chester High School in 1985. He earned his cosmetology license from Dahl's College of Beauty in Great Falls. Michael enjoyed working with people in his jobs as a cosmetologist, CNA, cook, and dietitian.

Michael met Michelle (McCann) in Kalispell, and they married in 1992. Soon after, he adopted Michelle's son, Alec. As a family, they moved a few times, ultimately settling in Hardin. They later divorced.

Michael enjoyed reading, listening to music, and traveling. He enjoyed spending time with his pets, family, and friends.

Michael is survived by his parents, Jerry and Janet; his son, Alec; his siblings, Matthew and Mary; his stepfather, Dexter Henry; his godson, Abraham; numerous cousins; and honorary kin, Judy, Carey, and Lisa.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herb and Betty Fenger and Jack and Lucile Cockrell; his uncles, Joel Fenger and Richard Cockrell; and his beloved pets, Bo, Samone, Trickle, October, Walter, and Henry.

A Remembrance Gathering will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall in Chester.
