Joan Ann "Annie" Meeusen, age 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family who loved her on Sunday December 18 2022.
She was born on June 4th, 1947 in Reed City, Michigan, the daughter of Roy Gaston Cavender and Nancy Ellen (Brown) Cavender. Annie attended Homer High School where she graduated in 1965 and moved shortly afterward to the Reed City area where she resided until the late 70's and then moved to the Luther area, staying there until the late 90's. Later, Annie moved to the Baldwin area following her marriage to Ivan. Annie worked 30 years as a rural mail carrier at the Baldwin Post Office until her suffering with illness led to her retirement. She had recently moved to the Hillsdale, MI area with her special friend Phillip Williams who had been keeping her entertained with coffee time at the restaurant, Bingo nights, and trips to the casino.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Nancy Cavender; her brother Roy Lee Cavender; and her sisters Gloria Jean Maka and Rose Marie Fisher; grandson Eric; and great granddaughter Grace Renee. She is survived by her brother Jack; sons David (Tabatha) and Michael (Elana); grandsons Tanner (Kaylee), Ben (Shelby), Kyle, Michael Jr., Connor, Roy, Constantine, Sebastian; and great-grandchildren Jackson Dean and Harper Rose; and a multitude of nephews and nieces who all called her their "favorite". Annie loved her family and it was one of her highest priorities. Every child was a gift and you only had to see her smile to understand what that meant to her.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Luther Lions Club located at 1003 State St. in Luther Michigan with a luncheon to follow. Visitation with the family begins at 12:00 P.M.
