BIG RAPIDS -- Kim G. Willmer, Jr., 45, of Big Rapids, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 25, 2018, at his home.
He was born Jan. 7, 1973, in Big Rapids, the son of Kim Willmer, Sr. and Elaine Coon, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1991. Kim's passion was cooking and gardening; his pride and joy was his son, Phoenix. Kim loved and enjoyed life to the fullest.
He is survived by his son, Phoenix; his mother, Elaine Sanford, and step-father, Bruce Rose, of Evart; his step-mother, Mary Willmer, of Big Rapids; brother, Adam Willmer; sisters, Tracey Willmer, Angela Sanford and Beth (Dan) Coulson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Kim was preceded in death by his father, Kim Sr., on March 28, 2014.
A celebration of Kim's life will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018, at the Wild Rose Café, 708 Maple St., Big Rapids. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the "Phoenix Willmer Fund" at Independent Bank in Big Rapids. Care and arrangements are entrusted to the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
