Maxine Bloom Obituary

Maxine Bloom
Hersey, Michigan
November 8, 1927 - April 9, 2024
Maxine (Sengelaub) Bloom, age 96, of Hersey, passed away on April 9, 2024.
She was born November 8, 1927 to Daniel and Ruth Sengelaub. She attended the Trimner Country School, and graduated from the Reed City High School. She married Bill Bloom on September 20, 1947. Together they farmed and raised two daughters, Suzanne and Pamela.
Maxine's favorite season was spring. She loved looking for kittens in the barn and watching for the spring calves. She loved all of the farm's animals, including chickens, ducks, turkeys, cats, dogs, and cattle. She was a huge fan of "The Incredible Doctor Pol", even traveling to his clinic on her 90th birthday to visit him. She carried on the Sengelaub family tradition of making maple syrup. Maxine was very possessive of the 100 year old hydrometer (syrup tester) she received from her father. She loved honey, but not the bees that pollinated the farm. She enjoyed riding her four wheeler around to keep check on things. She told many stories of her childhood, especially about her German grandmother and would frequently quote German phrases.
Maxine is survived by her daughters, Suzanne (Paul) Mitchell and Pamela Bloom. She adored her two grandsons, Jason Mitchell and Jordan (Brandi) Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, sister, Donna Voelker, and brother, Wayne Sengelaub.
Per her wishes there will be graveside services for immediate family.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Osceola County Animal Control to help animals in need.
