Reed City, Michigan
December 20, 1947 - October 12, 2023
Paul L. Godbold, 75, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 12, 2023.
He was born on December 20, 1947, to Francis and Beatrice (Emery) Godbold of Reed City, Michigan. He graduated from Ferris State University and served 4 years in the US Air Force where he worked with B52 bombers.
As a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and School, Paul served as an elder, the church treasurer, and a council member. He coached T-ball and Little League for many years, refereed high school basketball, and served on the Reed City school board. Paul volunteered for hospice and participated in Rotary.
Paul was employed with Home Oil Company, Michigan Works, and later, owned and operated Reed City Self Storage. He will be remembered as an avid deer hunter and lover of "Deer Camp".
Preceding him in death were his parents and sister, Janice Rohen. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, DiAnn Andresen Godbold; sons, Paul (Ellen) Godbold II of Caledonia, Christopher (Tracy) Godbold of Lowell; grandchildren, Haley, Payton, Mason, Britton, Brekkon and Weston; beloved Corgi, Skyler; siblings, Connie (Neal) Simon of Florida, Mary Lindell of Cadillac, his twin sister Paulette (Scott) Dane of Mason, F. Robert (Nia) Godbold of Hersey; and many nieces and nephews.
Paul said he was blessed to have two wonderful sons and six promising grandchildren.
Memorial donations in honor of Paul can be given to Trinity Lutheran Church and School, 19778 US 10, Reed City, MI 49677.
A celebration of Paul's life will take place at Trinity Lutheran Church in Reed City on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. A visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.
