Robert (Bob) Carlton, 67 of Big Rapids passed away October 29, 2022 at home surrounded by his family and best friend Robert Hatchew after a month long fight with cancer. The family expresses their gratitude for the care and compassion given by the ICU and neurology nurses at Butterworth Hospital and Mecosta County hospice.
Bob retired in 2020 after 14 years of employment at Original Footwear/Wolverine Worldwide. He spent many years driving semi and served in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and the yearly salmon and deer hunting camp with the guys, and was a loyal fan of Nascar, the Denver Broncos and Iowa Hawkeyes.
He was born in Hammond, IN and moved to Michigan 15 years ago where he met his wife Dotti, also surviving is his son Ronald Carlton (Eileen) Kinross, MI; daughter Logan Carlton, State Center, IA; step-daughters Tiffany Reeves (Tiffany) and Allison Reeves, Big Rapids; sister Linda Pothast, IA, brothers Larry, IA; and Billy, MO; Grandchildren: Audree Rader, Brandon, Nick and Andy Carlton, MI; Zander Lovelace, Gray Carlton IA; William Gibson, Joseph Carlton, Kinross, MI and his faithful best friend Fur-baby Maggie. He was preceeded in death by his father Robert Carlton, sister Pam Retman, daughter Bobbi Jo Carlton, son Louis Carlton, sister-in-laws Tina Karasiewicz and Bobbie Grow.
Creamation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
