Tasha Rodriguez Obituary

Tasha Castaneda Rodriguez, 36, of Big Spring died Sunday, June 11, 2023, at her home. Visitation will be 9 AM until 9 PM Sunday with vigil service at 7 PM at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral service will be 11 AM Monday at Myers & Smith Chapel.
Latasha Marie Castañeda was born, lovingly, to Carlos Castañeda and Cynthia? Buck Castañeda on February 25, 1987, in Big Spring Texas. She was a proud Pisces, Texan and Dallas Cowboys fan. She was a devoted and loving mother, daughter, sister, wife, aunt and was a warm presence in her family. She never hesitated to volunteer her time to help others, or throw herself into something she believed in. She was extremely charitable and adopted many people, friends, pets, and charities as her own- she truly had a "Heart of Gold". Tasha loved traveling, going to the lake, camping out in the living room, hosting "Family Movie Nights" and just hanging out with her brothers and sisters. She was a wonderful cook who loved making her famous shrimp soup, enchiladas, conchitas and many other dishes over the years. She was an excellent swimmer, dancer, navigator, planner and knew every word to every country song ever made. She may have sung a bit off key, but she'd always get you to join in with her infectious charm.
She loved her family deeply. She had many born, adopted, or married into the family and accepted them with open arms and love. Tasha had to say goodbye to so many that were close to her, every loss was deeply personal to her, she'd remember them and keep them close to her heart. She was a truly loving soul and cared deeply for the ones she loved. Above everything else, she loved her children and was a true mother bear. She loved Noah, Sarah, and Christopher Jr. with all her heart. She never hesitated to do the little things that mattered to make them happy. She once drove 900 miles to make sure her son was a Texan because that's the type of woman she was. Tasha was, and is, their protector, provider, caregiver, their loving heart, and a truly wonderful and caring mother who will be missed dearly. We love you, Tasha.
Psalms 34:18; "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."
She is survived by her children, Noah Anthony Rodriguez, Sarah Neveah Rodriguez, and Christopher Leos, Jr. her father, Carlos Castañeda; sisters, Mandy Cantu, Tamme Castañeda and Tommy Chavarria and Lauren Cevallos, Marissa Castañeda; Ex-husband, Jeff Rodriguez; her brothers, Martin Castañeda, Jr., Matthew Castañeda and Reyes (Viejo) Castañeda Jr. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cindy Castañeda; her stepmother, Angela Castañeda; her sister, Carla Castañeda; brother, Jesse Cantu; and uncles, Robert Castañeda, Ernest Castañeda, and Raymond Castañeda.
