Alicia Fanyak Obituary

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. - On Wednesday morning, June 21, 2006, our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend, Alicia June Fanyak, went to be with Jesus. She was 20 years old.
Alicia was born on October 7, 1985, in a blistering snow storm and passed into heaven on the first day of summer in 2006. She lost her battle with Lupus but won her battle over the pain she has been suffering with the past couple years.
Alicia was born with an energy and enthusiasm that stayed with her until the last day of her life. She was active in basketball and was voted most inspirational in volleyball, but her passion was softball. In Little League she played on three all-star teams, two of which won the state championship. Then she played in the ASA league for two years on the Billings Blues and the Havoc and traveled all over the country. She went to Huntley Project to play varsity softball and was 3-0 as a starter in two state tournaments as a freshman and sophomore. She transferred to Billings Central as a junior but was involved in a car accident before softball began and her athletic career was ended.
Alicia was extremely intelligent. She was a published member of the International Poets Society. Her junior year, she was accepted into the National Forensic Institute School of Medicine at UCLA. She studied medical careers as a senior and graduated from Skyview High School. She was diagnosed with Lupus in her senior year, which put her passion for forensic medicine on hold.
Last August, she moved to Nevada where she worked at Wally's Hot Springs Resort. She left many great friends behind in Montana but made many more amazing friends who loved her like family. She was very happy there and definitely lived every second of her life to the fullest.
Alicia was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, her paternal grandparents and cousin. She is survived by her most loving parents, Jennifer and Chuck Fanyak; sister and brother-in-law Megan and PJ Allgayer, her nephew and niece Mason and Mataya; grandma and grandpa June and Bob Holmes; aunts, uncles and cousins, JoAnn and Tim Hannifin (Sean, Ben and Talitha), David Fanyak (Ashley and Masey) and Jim and Irma Fanyak.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight.
So hold your loved ones close today,
and whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear.

"WE LOVE YOU MORE THAN WE COULD EVER SAY IN WORDS ALICIA!"
Please join us in a celebration of Alicia's life which will be held at 11 a.m. Friday June 30, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Stockman Bank for a college fund for Mason and Mataya who loved their aunt so much.

Jennifer,Chuck,Megan and family,

I can not tell you how very sorry and saddened I am to hear about Alicia. She was such a wonderful person and grew into such a beautiful young woman. I remember her smiling little mischievious face and long blond hair. When I think of her when she was little it still makes me smile. She was an angel. Jennifer I still remember you telling me at work one day with tears in your eyes how someone was mean and upset Alicia when she spilled her jello at lunch. She was very blessed to have such wonderful parents and I have never met anyone who loved her children more than you Jennifer. I am sorry that I did not know of this until today so was not at her service. Jennifer you are such a special person to me and my prayers are with you and your family at this sad time.

My heart is breaking as I write this. Alicia was one of Erica's oldest friends and her pitching sister. Jennifer I knew you before you were blessed with your two daughters and watched in delight as they entered your life. God gave you those gifts and saw some reason to call Alicia home. Heaven must of needed some sprucing up. I found it to be such a neat coincidence that years later my son, Brian, and Alicia were also calling each other "friend". She made a very positive impact on people in the short time she was on earth. If I can be of any help, please let me know.

Chuck,Jennifer and Family,

There are not any words of comfort when someone you love is gone, but remember she is only gone from this earth, she is out of pain and running around in heaven. Alicia was a beautiful and bright girl, she made me laugh and smile all the time. You are in my prayers and thoughts as always. Only time can heal the pain of loss, but the memories are always there for joy of knowing a wonderful person. I love you and I am always here for you.

Chuck, Jennifer, Megan and family,

It is at times like this that one really wishes they would have kept in touch with people as time passed. It is with great sadness that we want you to know we are thinking of you at this time.

We have learned all to well this past year with Bill's cancer that life can be very short and very cruel, but we have had our beliefs confirmed that something good will always come from something bad. I only got to know Alicia when when our daughter Sundi stood up for Megan in her first wedding. Alicia was just as all others described, full of life and always had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. We are so sorry she had to be in so much pain the past couple of years. We can only think of heaven as a much happier place now that she is there.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all Alicia's family and friends. I was shocked to hear the news of her death, although I haven't seen or talked to her in years. I became friends with Alicia when we attended Billings Catholic School together. She was such a happy and outgoig person, it didn't even matter if she was having a bad day! I remember all the sleepovers and good times we had. I'll always have a special place in my heart for her. I'm glad I can say she was my friend, a great friend.
