Annabelle Stockdale Obituary

HELENA - Annabelle Schultz Stockdale passed away peacefully in her home at Aspen Gardens in Helena on Oct. 4, 2005, of natural causes.
Annabelle was born to Joseph and Francis Schultz on Feb. 5, 1921, in Ryegate. She was the youngest of four girls. She graduated from Roundup High School in 1939. She served in the Women's Army Corps after high school. She worked at Coles department store in Billings, and the Cooke City General Store, where she met Glenn Stockdale. Glenn and Annabelle were married March 10, 1951, in Red Lodge.
Annabelle spent most of her life as a homemaker, and raising her children.
Annabelle enjoyed traveling the state with Glenn, watching her six children compete in sports. After the youngest child left home, she and Glenn retired, where they spent their leisure days traveling to both coasts of the U.S. In the winter, Annabelle spent many days at the Bridger Bowl Ski Lodge near Bozeman, watching Glenn ski his way down the hill. She did take ski lessons at the young age of 70, but after a few lessons, she chose to stay in the warm lodge.
She is survived by six children: two sons, Allen (Val) Stockdale of Fargo, N.D., Terry (Beverly) Stockdale of Henderson, Nev.; four daughters, Margaret (Carl) Brun of Bozeman, Sheila Stockdale of Helena, Retta (Ben) March of Clancy and Annette Stockdale of Helena. She has 10 grandchildren, Aaron Williams, Kim (Derek) Gilbert, Jennifer Williams, Rachael (Zach) Worthen, Megan and Melissa Stockdale, Steven Stockdale, Glenn, Jarren and Jenna March. She has one great-grandson, Mark Gilbert. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn; her three sisters, Katie, Ethel and Marie.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers to the Humane Society of Lewis and Clark County. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Oct. 8, at 1 p.m. at Helena Funeral Chapel, 314 N. Rodney St., 59601.
