Pat was born Oct. 11, 1939, in Columbus, Miss., to John and Getha Richardson. Early on the morning of April 28, 2012, she had a stroke, quickly and peacefully passing away, ending her battle with Alzheimer's.
On Dec. 27, 1958, in Kemmerer, Wyo., Leonard H. Goettlich and Pat Richardson were joined in marriage. Leonard passed away on Feb. 13, 1999. Pat is survived by her son Lin Goettlich and his wife, Michelle, and their boys, Peter and Daniel; her daughter, Tricia Proctor, and her husband, Eric, and their son Levi; her son Frank Goettlich; her son Harold Goettlich and his wife, Bridgette, and their daughters, Kiah and McKenna; her sisters of Florida, Geri Turner and Johnnie Lowe; and many nieces and nephews.
Pat was a woman of faith and conviction where she often wore her heart on her sleeve. She was a woman that loved deeply and because of this great love for fellowship with others she was also inclined to allow herself to also be deeply affected by the subtle pains and struggles that often accompany our human relationships.
Grace was her middle name and she lived a life for the world to see her full acceptance of God's gift to her in His faithful provision for her daily sustenance in body and spirit. Her undying love for her children and their affection was immeasurable and unhindered through many days of uncertainty. Days where her grace abounded, as she openly and continuously gave thanks to God for the grace He bestowed upon her simple, yet genuine faith.
She gave what she had and trusted God in prayer to provide the balance. She genuinely loved people and was full of joy when able to come alongside others that shared a beautiful, childlike, and genuine faith in Christ's perfect love and promises.
In her simplicity, she brought a unique way of introducing levity and laughter. Now she is rejoicing in heaven with her loving God and Savior. She leaves a simple legacy of truth that will last for the eternity most of us remember from a song we sang in Sunday school as children, "Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so."
Thank you Mom for living this truth out in the open for our eyes to see as children and adults.
Her funeral will be at 4 pm., Friday, May 4, at Smith Funeral Chapels, located at 315 E. Third St., Laurel, MT. A viewing will take place prior to the funeral at 3 p.m., at the same location. A reception will follow at the Laurel Church of the Nazarene, located at 201 W. 11th St., Laurel, MT 59044. You can send donations to Laurel Church of the Nazarene.
