Shawn Hickey Obituary
Our beloved Shawn J. Hickey, 43, of Billings, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 24, 2018.
Shawn was born Dec. 15, 1975, in Butte, the son of Brenda (Chrismon) Ehlenburg and Dan Hickey.
He attended Billings schools and graduated from West High School in 1994, where he participated in wrestling, track and football. He also attended MSU-Bozeman and graduated from MSU-Billings.
Shawn was employed at Epcon Sign and Homestead Secure Records.
Our cherished memories of Shawn include his great sense of humor and fun. He brought much joy and laughter to our family. He enjoyed trapshooting, hunting, four-wheeling and socializing.
Shawn's greatest joy in life was when he became a father to his son, Cooper while attending his birth on March 15, 2003. As a proud father, Shawn spent time with his son by being a stay at home dad at times, attending Cooper's sports events, camping, creating 'Cooper's Camp' and four-wheeling on the family property at Duck Creek.
Shawn was preceded in death by: his cousin, James Markovich; step-father, Joe Ehlenburg; uncle, Bill Chrismon; great-uncle, Rocky Vail; grandparents, Ed and Helen Hickey, Mary and Ernie Chrismon, and Charlie and Margaret Ehlenburg.
Shawn is survived by: his son, Cooper Hickey; mother, Brenda Ehlenburg; father, Dan (Valerie) Hickey; siblings, Amanda (Jeromy) Fouts and Holly Herbst. He also leaves behind: his aunt, Kim (Kurt) Chrismon; aunts and uncles, Doug and Julie Hickey, Mike and Cheryl Hickey, Wally and Jeannette Salmonsen, and Rob and Cheryl Ehlenburg; numerous cousins and niece; close friends, Bryan Wiley of Santa Cruz, California, Curtis Broughton of Billings, Kevin Broughton of Hamilton, Julie Buechler, and Chella Markovich.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 at Cremation and Funeral Gallery in Billings followed by a luncheon at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a charity of your choice.
