Sidney Ann Reinhardt
Sidney Ann Reinhardt flew into this world on May 6, 2014, within 15 minutes of being at the hospital, in the triage room, without a doctor in the room. Once she arrived, she literally never stopped until her tragic accident at their home on Jan. 23, 2021. Sidney Reinhardt tragically left this world far too early on Jan. 27.
Sidney was 6 years old and had just returned to in-person Kindergarten on Nov. 30th. She was working really hard to overcome some learning and emotional obstacles and was doing so well and all felt right! Sidney, also known as 'Sissy' had a spirit larger than life that was not to be contained. Her personality filled a stadium! In her short time on this earth, Sidney left a big impression on a countless number of people. She was a little girl with a twenty something attitude who loved big, played loud, and waited on no one!
Sidney had just stared dance and swim lessons again. She loved the water. People who swam with her often worried that she was drowning because she loved to be submerged in the water. Her swimming instructor would allow her to swim to the bottom of the pool before transitioning to the next exercise. She always gave a big thumbs-up after practicing her front stroke. She was a true water baby. If it was on a beach, the boat, a pool, or even just the bath tub, she would be joyfully swimming with her goggles on.
Our daughter was artistic and musical. You knew exactly where she was by the singing and humming she would do. She loved painting and coloring. Baking and mixing…if it was going to be messy, she was in! She was often a mess and didn't care to have her hair brushed or have mom dress her. Sidney sure had her own opinions and style! Despite her own carefree appearance on the daily, she loved to play dress-up and put makeup on anyone who was willing to let her, even dad. She loved her 'Makeup Kits' as she would refer to them. Sid also had a love for animals!
Sidney was FULL steam ahead all of the time (unless watching TV or electronics). She loved her family! She is survived by her mom and dad Sommer and Mel Reinhardt and brother Porter (8) of Billings; her 'Nene' Kathy; 'Papa' Jim, Uncle Mick, and all her cousins and extended family in Colorado. We feel that Sidney's spirit was way too big for this world. She was greeted in heaven by her Grandma P and all her other relatives who came before her.
In her short life, she touched so many lives and has now SAVED others through the selfless act of organ donation. Her family is comforted in the fact that children around the United States will be blessed by this gift! We want to recognize the first responders and staff at St. Vincent Healthcare who cared for her, loved on her and prayed for her and our family, particularly the staff of the PICU. Such amazing people! Your acts of love and kindness don't go unnoticed.
While this time is full of sorrow, we are planning to celebrate her life in a special way. Please join us for the 'Live Like Sid Celebration' on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021, from 4 -7 p.m. at the Shrine Auditorium. We will be having a Mini Circus full of games, candy table, and all the things Sidney loved the most. At approximately 5 p.m. we will have pause for a time of sharing. Please bring a story to share!
In lieu of flowers, your donations in Sidney's name can be made to the Red Lodge Community Foundation to help build a new pool. Visit https://www.rlacf.org/donate-2/local-causes/city-pool-fund/ to donate online.
