He attended school in Casper, Wyo., through fifth grade and then continued his education in Billings, graduating from West High School. Steve received training in small engine repair at the Vo-Tech School in Missoula.
Steve worked the oil field in Sidney for a short time, did maintenance work for the City of Billings and later worked for Blain's Tree Service. A couple of automobile accidents left Steve unable to work the last several years. His interests were riding Harley Davidsons and collecting Harley Davidson memorabilia. His greatest joys were his children and family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Betty and Frank Barth and Karoline and Oliver Peterson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, 218 N. 34th St. Cremation has taken place and private family interment of ashes will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Education Accounts previously established at Waddell & Reed for Michael and Hunter Barth.

Dear Dwayne & family:
As being your letter carrier, as well as Steve's, I came to learn that you were brothers. I do not always read the paper, so the past few days, I had a feeling that something was wrong. When I passed by on Saturday,I was still unaware of the passing of Steve. I decided to check online, & I was very sad to find that Steve had passed away. I had several short visits with him, and got to know "Joker". The past few months, Joker didn't seem to be himself, and I wonder if it was because of Steve's condition, and he was being protective. I am sure Steve will greatly be missed by Hunter and Michael, as well as all of his other friends, and family. My thoughts and prayers are with you, and your family, during this difficult time. God Bless.

We wish to express our deepest sympathy to the family of Steve. We have known Steve for over twenty years, and though our contact with Steve has been limited over the last few years, we still considered him a friend and a great neighbor. He will truly be missed. With our thoughts and prayers to the family,
