Thomas Gordon Obituary

Thomas Walter Gordon, 57, passed away of cancer, Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at his home in Billings, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born Sept. 26, 1946, in Plainfield, N.J., the son of Amos and Raechael (Arrants) Gordon. He graduated from Cranford High School in Cranford, N.J. Thomas served in the Army and was stationed in Korea. Following his honorable discharge, he worked as a machinist and then began his career with Exxon Mobil where he worked for over 25 years as a pipefitter. He transferred to Montana in the mid 1980s. On June 23, 1995, he was united in marriage to Linda.
Tom was a lifetime member of the VFW and was actively involved in FOA camps (For One Another Cancer Camps). He was a pilot and enjoyed flying. He also liked ranching; he raised a few cattle. His greatest love was his family, and he enjoyed the outdoors - camping, hunting and fishing.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Linda on Nov. 4, 2003, as well as their beloved black lab, Molly. He is survived by his children, Laura Leigh Gordon (Kevin Howey) and Kevin Thomas Gordon of Billings; two brothers, Amos Gordon and John Gordon, both of Florida; Linda's children, Eddie Kaderavek of Shepherd and Tina (George) Rivera of Houston, Texas; one niece Bryna Gordon of Florida and a nephew Nathaniel Gordon of New Jersey.
Visitation will be Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. Funeral Services for Tom will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Dahl Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow at the VFW, 637 Anchor in the Billings Heights. Memorials may be made to FOA, Box 6446, Bozeman, MT 59771 or to the VFW Post # 6774.
