Travis Ulysses Douglas Holliday

Oct. 27, 1939 - Jan. 26, 2009

A n Old Testament example of a Kinsman Redeemer, Travis' love was extended to both family and friends alike. Everyone who considered him their friend knew - always - they had a dependable confidant.

Born Oct. 27, 1939, (the same day as his father), Elder Thomas F. Holliday and his mother, Leona B. Holliday, in Elsberry, Mo. Travis attended grade school in Anderson, Ind., and moved with his family to Bill-ings. Graduating from Billings Senior High, where he left a track record, unbroken for 21 years until the fleet footed Larry Edwards broke the record, making him very proud. While in school, Travis joined the Marine Corps as a Reservist and upon graduation continued until he completed seven years and received an Honorable Discharge. During and after graduation he was a band member of "The Belltones," which played locally and frequently traveled in both America and Canada. During his summer vacations between school terms Travis worked with his father in construction developing labor skills that proved helpful.

In addition to the above, Travis developed into an accomplished musician but stopped short of fully devel-oping his vocal abilities (due to shyness) and would only sing in the shower or when he (thought) he was alone. He was a "Golden Glove" boxer (who never lost a bout!), a skilled barber, an avid reader and listener, who was able to give sage advice when asked.

When his life flow was ravagely attacked by back injuries, diabetes, cancer, and a myriad of complications, misdiagnosis and treatment plans, Travis' hobbies were greatly reduced to enjoying chocolate milkshakes everyday which his wife, loved ones and friends would gladly bring him while they would visit, and his special love for Hannibal, his dog and constant companion.

Travis, a loving son, brother, cousin, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, and friend responded generously when called upon. Travis continued his love of traveling, meeting people and exploring new horizons. On Jan. 26, 2009, he was joined by family, friends, his Kinsman Redeemer, Jesus Christ, the host of travel agents just exploring the different sights with the "Great Cloud of Witnesses."

Included in his travels are his grandparents whose line traces back to the Great Flood and beyond to God's creation of his world, Adam and Eve.

Those who predeceased him include his parents, mother-in-law, Rosella Mae Vallie; one sibling, Simeon Lee Holliday; brother-in-law Ron Rickett Sr. and many uncles, aunts, cousins, special friends and loved ones (too numerous to name or count and yet rejoicing as we read!)

Survivors include his loving wife Virginia (Angel) M. Holliday; two daughters Bianca M. Holliday and Whitney Rickett, both of Illinois; two sisters Rev. Chonita A. and Rev. Charlotte Holliday, both Pastors of "Agape" Fellowship and Ministries, Inc. in Billings; two brothers Thomas (Michelle) Holliday Jr., of Virginia and Phillip C. Holliday Sr.; father-in-law Charlie Rickett Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Cathy Rickett and Georgina Crow, both of Billings; two brothers-in-law, Abe and Charlie Rickett, both of Billings; five grandchildren Rose May Holliday, Angelo Kuwuan Brooks McCall, Nina Armani Herbig, Azmariah and Tariah Appling; a special niece Leona A. Holliday and great niece Miss Kaleigha A'lene; and of course all of YOU!
