Tyler William Grubbs
Tyler William Grubbs of Billings, Montana, died on Sunday April 11, 2021, at 29 years of age. Tyler is survived by his parents, Larry and Carol Grubbs, his brother Riley (McKenzie) Grubbs, and his love Angela, all of Billings; his paternal grandmother, Barbara Stauffer of Tofield, Alberta; his maternal grandmother, Lydia 'Polly' Mane of Lewistown, Montana; and, many aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout the region.
Ty was born and raised in Billings. He attended Canyon Creek School from kindergarten through junior high, and was a 2010 graduate of Billings West High School, where he excelled as a distance runner on the track and cross country teams. After brief stints in college at Montana State University in Bozeman and MSU Billings, Tyler decided college was not his cup of tea, and became a licensed Pharmacy Technician. He worked for Juro's Pharmacy from 2015-2017, then at Billings Clinic since April of 2018. Tyler enjoyed and took pride in his work, and was well-liked by his co-employees.
Tyler was a bright, witty, and fun young man who was always entertaining his family and friends with his quirky sense of humor. Ty also had a serious side, and was a prolific reader, a thoughtful observer of society and life, and an articulate conversationalist on weighty issues of his life and times.
Ty and his older brother Riley were just 22 months apart, and exceptionally close friends from early childhood. Whether alone or with friends and family, their get-togethers were filled with the joking and laughter of 'The Ry and Ty Show.' Both talented musicians, they played and performed on electric guitar from junior high school on, and loved spending time together writing, arranging, recording and sharing their own music.
Tyler loved his family, and he was very much loved by them. Their bond remained strong throughout his battle with depression and addiction over many years. Tyler will be deeply missed by his family and friends for the remainder of their lives. May he rest in peace.
Services will be held at First Christian Church, 522 North 29th Street in Billings, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021.

Dear Larry,
I haven´t any hope that you remember me, but I remember you. And my heart hurts for you and your family.
It sounds as if your boy was one helluva guy. I would like to have known him.
Bless your head (in the inimitable words of my Uncle John).
And may peace find you again someday. Maurine Hinckley

Dear Larry and Carol, As you know, I lost my son, Cole, on 8-8-17 in an automobile accident. I know your pain and, at times, it feels as if it will never ease up. It doesn't necessarily but, for me, it has at least become bearable so I can continue to be a parent to my other 5 adult children and grand children. I pray God will provide you with the strength to go through this extreme heart break. If either of you ever want to talk, I'm here.

A few years ago I met Riley, who was pursuing his career while studying with us at the Billings Clinic. We hit it off on the first day as I was showing him the ropes. Later when I heard his younger brother had been hired as a technician, I was excited thinking that if he's anything like Riley, we've really got something. Being quite involved with his training, I immediately realized my hopes had come true. Tyler exceeded my expectations. He was witty, charming, clever, personable, and learned new material at a remarkable pace. We spoke of music, theology, philosophy, mythology, syntax, and contemplated the universe in our "spare" time. Tyler was relentless in his work ethic. In a nonchalant manner he picked up a remarkable amount of slack around the facility. Every time I praised him he would say "I try". The team here at Billings Clinic misses you desperately Tyler. Once, I told him, whoever raised you did the best job ever. May God bless Tyler, and all who loved him.

I was in Tyler´s graduating class and ran cross country and track with him as well as lived in the same neighborhood. I agree that Tyler had a great sense of humor and was always brightening everyone´s mood or playing harmless tricks on people. He was a kind and thoughtful guy. I am so sorry to hear about his passing. I pray that the family will receive comfort and healing.

There are no words to describe this immeasurable loss. Ty is so loved and cherished. He made such an impactful difference in my life and I value all the long meaningful talks we've had and always will. I was looking forward to catching up with him this summer... I am so very sorry that the world now has one less very bright light. My entire heart goes out to Carol, Larry, and Ry & Kenzie.

I am so very sorry that once again a beautiful young soul was stolen by tragic depression. I loved all the times that I spent with both boys. Sometimes I felt like they were like my boys too. Summers were the best when I spent time with them as I cleaned. We had too many deep conversations to count. They were fun, stimulating and extremely intelligent. They were also in my mind " One person with two bodies " totally inseparable. I really missed not being around them and spending time with them. My heart is broken along with yours. My solace is that he finally found a peace that he had been seeking for over 12 years. Sometimes no matter how much love we give, it simply is not enough to repair what is broken within us. He will always be remembered for his greatness and sweetness. We love all of you and wish you did not have to endure such sorrow. Sabrina and Art Kraft
