Funeral services for Ella Schroeder, 89, of New Salem will be 11 a.m. CT Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021 at Peace Church with Pastor Joshua Eddy officiating. Burial will follow at Peace Cemetery.

Visitation for Ella will be an hour prior to the service at the church.

Ella passed away Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021 at Elm Crest Manor in New Salem.

Ella was born Dec. 31, 1931 in Bismarck to Max and Alma (Walde) Just. She graduated from New Salem High School in 1949. She married Robert Schroeder on Dec. 15, 1949. To this union five children were born, Diane, Michael, Daniel, Ross and Jeff. Ella and Robert raised their family on their farm west of New Salem. Ella was a member of the New Salem Homemakers Club. She enjoyed playing card games, dancing, family genealogy, sewing and cooking. Ella and Robert traveled to other countries including; Germany, China, France and cruised around the Panama Canal.

Ella is survived by her children, Diane (Edward) Cuskelly of Killdeer, Daniel (Donna) Schroeder of Iowa, Ross (Cheri) Schroeder of New Salem, Jeff (Julie) Schroeder of New Salem; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Max and Alma; husband, Robert; and son, Michael.
