Jerry was a classmate all of our 12 years in Glenburn. Everyone liked Jerry and whenever he said something you knew it was worthwhile to listen. My condolences to his family. I’m sure you have many wonderful memories of better days to share and treasure.

We are sorry to hear of Jerry´s passing. I spent my entire school years at Glenburn together. He was very dedicated in everything he was involved in and excelled at all. I remember his hearty laugh. May you be comforted by your memories of him. Phyllis (Thompson) Eldevik and Steve

I was a classmate of Jerry's and often sat in front of him whenever we were lined up in alphabetical order. He was smart, nice and always had a quiet smile for anyone. My sympathies to his family.

I am the oldest sibling in our family and Jerry was the youngest. I have many great memories of growing up with him and seeing him become a husband and father. He was a wonderful person and I will miss him terribly. Rest in peace Jerry. Love your big sister, Meredith or the name you gave me Meredie

Jerry and I were classmates in Glenburn and graduated in 1971. He was always studious and pretty quiet... until we returned to a school reunion after he and Bob married sisters. After the reunion we went for breakfast around midnight and really had a great time, laughing about those school years and just reacquainting ourselves again. I am saddened that this friend from school has passed.

To all the Hjelmstad family, we are sending our deepest sympathy. My growing up days in Glenburn included the Hjelmstad´s and I have wonderful memories of them all. Blessing to you all at this time. I´ll always remember Jerry´s laughter!

Jerry is my uncle and he was the best uncle. He always had a joke to share, a story about family, and a warm smile. Jerry organized and coordinated family reunions throughout the years. Family and extended family was very important to him. He had an unforgettable laugh that I can hear whenever I think of him. I will miss his emails that he would send on my birthday every year. Godspeed Uncle Jerry. You are missed.
