Kelly Patrick Rhodes was born August 30, 1959, in Stanley, to Chester and Helga (Heino) Rhodes, the youngest of six children. He was raised in Palermo and graduated from Stanley High School in 1977. He always helped out on the family farm and enjoyed being outdoors. He learned to work hard as a farm and ranch kid.
Kelly was blessed with three children and was once married to Cheri Lindley. He spent many years in Mandan and recently returned to the Stanley area. Throughout his life, he worked as a heavy equipment operator on the farm, ranch, pipeline, or construction. He semi-retired over the last few years.
In 2012, Kelly became a Grandpa, and it was very clear what his main focus would be from then on. He loved being a Grandpa. His five grandkids brought him immense joy, and he rarely missed one of their activities. Traveling all over the state, he was their #1 fan.
Remember him as a kind and caring man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, Kelly Rhodes passed away unexpectedly from natural causes. May he rest in peace.
Kelly is survived by his children, Jamie Sherman (TJ, boys Eddie and Charlie) of Minnesota, Kelsi Estvold (Jake) of New Town, and Jaden Rhodes (Jessica) of Mandan; grandchildren, Kashtyn, Laykyn, Coy, Sayler Estvold, and Eliana Rhodes; siblings, Steve Rhodes of Bismarck, Conrad Rhodes of Colorado, and Charlene (Sam) Daniel of Tennessee; uncle, Gary (Beattie) Rhodes of Minot; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Helga and Chester Rhodes; brothers, Harley "Butch" and Curtis Rhodes; and many extended family members.
Funeral: Friday, October 11, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Stanley, with visitation 2 hours before the start of the service at the church.
Interment: Fairview Cemetery, Stanley.
