I am way late for this. I was looking for my former favorite coaches and found Coach Schultz had passed. I had the fortunate opportunity to have Coach Schultz in my life in the early 60’s in Cooperstown, North Dakota. I have many memories of Coach but mainly track. He had taught me so many things I remember-how to tell which foot forward in your stance, how many steps before you throw back your arm in a relay, how many steps before you take off in the relay, when to lean into the tape etc. I remember Coach laying out the city streets in Cooper for practice and when we should sprint, walk, half speed etc. (And he would drive around to see if we were doing it correctly). Best thing was Social Studies class was when were in class Coach had each and every event and school on chalk board for that week and how many points needed for each event for Cooper to win. And he had it right! I miss him standing at the board and stroking his hair forward and making us believe. I wish I had him for my Coach my Senior year of High School and had gotten to tell him this personally. Rest In Peace Coach! Chuck Jewett
