When my husband and I heard of Victor's passing we were saddened by knowing we would not get to know him better but we are happy for him to be in a better place in the spirit world and we are thankful for the short time that we knew him and it was a blessing for us to have been married by him in our traditional way and to have received our naming ceremony through him and we feel honored to have known him. He was a good man with a good heart. Our prayers and thoughts are with you Marcia and Victor's Family.

Though his life was short, his legacy of the love of his people and his culture will live on for generations to come. He was a blessing, in the form of mortal man, to understand and honor traditions that were of the utmost importance to ancestors, and may this blessing live on in all lives that he touched by word and deed.

Please forgive me for not being there with you. You have to know that I was with you in prayer. I know you would understand, since you and Vistor had our youth a priority. You have so many precious memories to help you through and remember that our Father above is only a wisper away waiting to comfort you and wipe away those tears.

To The Family of Victor Brave Thunder ~
We are very saddened by Victor's passing. He was a great man who was compassionate of others and treated everyone with respect. He will be missed at Standing Rock Elementary School as he was loved and respected by the students and staff. He worked hard to teach the youth about the language and about the Lakota culture. I will always remember the help he gave me as a teacher to incorporate the culture into my classroom. He was a friend to us all and we will never forget him and the impact he had in our school and community. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Richelle Condon & Family

Marcia, It with deep sorrow to hear the passing of your husband. Victor was a good man,He was funny, kind, caring, and he took on the peoples problems and burdens, as sun-dancers do. He understood all this, The traditions yet he shared what all he knew very un-selfish man with a heart as big as the world, big enough for all of us. Men like this, leave Voids in one hearts and minds. But he said "it is what you leave behind with all you know", "all your teachings"' "all your love", that what people will remember you for.I will never forget Kola Vic, He will always be in my thoughts and prayers. And my prayers go out to you my friend and baby Vic. God bless you both and all the family and friends of Victor.

When I was a little girl growing up, I always had fond memories of listening to Uncle Vic, when he was first singing. I would stop by his place and wait to walk to school with some girls and he would sing while I waited. I never forgot those early mornings. They are etched in my heart and I will always have a special place in my heart for Leksi Vic.

To the Victor Brave Thunder Sr. Family and friends,

I was saddened to learn of Mr. Brave Thunder's passing. Victor was a friend and a mentor to all of us in the Bear Soldier District. He gave of his time selflessly to bestow his knowledge on the youth, elderly and residents.

May the Lord bless you with faith and strength to get through this difficult time.

To The Family of Victor

We were saddened to hear about Victor leaving this world. We got to meet and have Victor come to our house and pray with us after our son, Eric had left us for the spirit world. He did the Indian ceremory for us at Eric's memorial and we were always thankful for this. Because Victor and Jerren made a memorial song for our son. Victor was a very humble man and his traditional life showed it.

Sometimes there are no words, we could say -- only shoulders to lean on, hands to hold onto, and hugs to comfort you as best they can. But you have people there for you.
