Dorothy Mazurowski Obituary

HENDERSONVILLE–Dorothy S. Mazurowski, 84, of Hendersonville, died on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Marie Splain and her son David of Hendersonville.
Dorothy was born in Amarillo, TX and was raised in Shinglehouse, PA with her five brothers and sisters. She worked as a registered nurse at Meyer Memorial Hospital in Buffalo, NY. She met her husband Jack there and they were married on April 11, 1959. After a brief stay in Buffalo, Dorothy and Jack moved to Hope, NJ where they raised three sons and enjoyed many good friends in the community. They later moved to Oklahoma City, OK before settling in Hendersonville for the past twenty four years.
Dorothy was an avid gardener and cook, and was well known for her wheat weavings which she sold at Waterloo Village and the annual Hope, NJ Christmas Craft Market. Her weavings have been sold all across the country and were featured one year on the White House Christmas Tree. In her later years, Dorothy was an active volunteer with the Hendersonville Council on Aging.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Jack of 55 years and their two sons: Alan and his wife Hope of Ruckersville, VA, and Peter and his wife Ashlie of Inman, SC. In addition, Dorothy had four Grandchildren who loved her beyond words, Jared & Anna of Ruckersville and Lindsey & Katelyn of Inman, SC. Their "Grandma Maz" will be greatly missed.
A Memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 10, 2015 in the Chapel of Immaculate Conception Church, Hendersonville, NC. In lieu of flowers, Dorothy wanted donations to be made to the charity of your choice.
