Jane Sylvester Obituary

BURLINGTON-Jane Cornetta Sylvester, 87, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 at Moses Cone Hospital after battling several health issues for a month. She was born in Hudson County, NJ to the late William Joseph Cornetta and Kathryn Burke Cornetta and was married to the late Francis Joseph "Frank" Sylvester who died in June 2014.
Jane retired after 14 years of service with the county of Rockland in New York. They moved to Hendersonville, NC to enjoy their retirement. In 2008, they relocated to Twin Lakes. Jane enjoyed playing Bridge and Mah Jongg with her neighbors and friends. She enjoyed reading and putting puzzles together.
Survivors include her daughter, Arlene Sylvester Fricke and her husband, Michael, of Dallas, TX; her son, Donald Francis "Don" Sylvester and his wife, Elizabeth, of Raleigh; grandchildren, Brian Sylvester and his wife, Julie, Daniel Sylvester, Kristen S. Gielow and her husband, Charlie, and Breanna Fricke; great grandchildren, Nathan, Noah and Evan Sylvester. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, William Joseph "Bill" Cornetta.
The celebration of life service will be 11:00AM Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the May Foley Chapel at Twin Lakes by Father Mark Menees. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Twin Lakes Community, 3701 Wade Coble Drive, Burlington, NC 27215 or by calling 336-538-1500. You may sign the online register book at www.lowefuneralhome.com.
