Lula Roselle Mathis

Lula Roselle Mathis, 79 of Hendersonville went to be with the dear Lord in Heaven, on Monday December 14, 2015 at The Oaks of Brevard.
She was the daughter of the late Narvie and Lula Ashe Ward. She was preceded in death by one son Tony L. Mathis, a daughter Sheila A. Mathis and ten brothers and sisters.
She was a lifelong member of Jones Gap Baptist Church, was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. A friend to all who knew her and will be missed by many.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Conley Lee Mathis of Hendersonville, five sons, James C. Mathis and his wife Linda of Rutherfordton, Bruce Mathis and his wife Lisa of Hendersonville, Fred Mathis and his wife Debbie of Hendersonville, John T. Mathis and his wife Mamie of Polk County NC, and Mark Mathis and his wife Beverly of Etowah, one brother, Joe Ward of FL, two sisters, Frankie Dean of Sylva and Ruby Morgan of Bryson City. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Friday December18. 2015 at 2pm at Jones Gap Baptist Church with the Revs. Curtis Pace and Joshua Mathis officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 pm to 2pm Friday at Jones Gap Baptist Church.
