Noel W. Ahlers

1927 - 2018

Noel W. Ahlers, peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at Sunnybrook Assisted Living. He was born September 9, 1927 to Walter and Vera Ahlers in Lansing, MI. A Marine Corps Veteran, he served during the Korean conflict. Prior to retirement, he worked for Ford Motor Company as a Property Manager. For 59 years he was married to Elaine, until her passing in 2016.
Having a wonderful sense of humor, Noel had a sweet and agreeable personality. His past hobbies showcased his creative nature; he was always designing his next "project". These projects ranged from cutting boards for the kitchen to a three story house on the side of a mountain. His hobbies included painting, sculpting, stained glass, clockmaking, and woodworking. He never stopped creating, and he always followed through on designs. He enjoyed traveling and he was always ready for the next adventure, which many times included fishing and being around the water.
He is survived by his son Eric Ahlers and his wife Brenda, his daughter Gretchen Hahn her husband Brian, and his three grandsons - Grant and Cameron Hahn and Morgan Ahlers.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at Sunnybrook for their compassionate care.
