William Armstrong Reed Obituary

William ("Bill") Armstrong Reed, 90, of Etowah, NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Born August 26, 1930 in Wilmington, Delaware, Bill graduated from Pierre S. DuPont High School and The Friends School in Wilmington, DE. He graduated college from The University of Miami with a degree in Psychology.
An Army veteran, Bill was a member of radio corps at Fort Huachuca in Arizona during the Korean War. Bill worked as a science teacher at Antheil Junior High school as well as a varsity football and tennis coach at Ewing High School in Trenton, New Jersey before joining Leeds and Northrup as a sales training manager in North Wales, Pennsylvania. Over the years Bill served the church as trustee, elder, Sunday School teacher and director at many of the churches he and his wife Dotty attended as they lived in Trenton, NJ, Cockeysville, MD, Doylestown, PA and Etowah, NC.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Dorothy Wikoff Reed, three daughters, Leslie Treadway (husband Jeff) of Asheville, NC, Holly Lipscomb (husband John) of Roanoke, VA, and Tina Tharp (husband Scott) of Phoenixville, PA and two granddaughters, Logan Life and Kelsie Arnold.
The family will gather privately for funeral services with their Pastor, Steve Mirich Jr. from Covenant Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville, NC and would like to recognize and are grateful for the unparalleled care and support they received from the staff at The Bridge at Lakepoint Landing and the hospice services of Four Seasons.
