Betty Bell Bolen

1933 - 2022

Betty Bell Bolen, age 89, of Fair Play passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2022, at Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar. She was born May 26, 1933, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to William Abraham and Sceller Mae Browning Tankersley.

Betty went to California with her family during the great depression. She graduated from Exeter Union High School, Exeter, California, in 1952.
She was united in marriage to Berry Kent Bolen on Sept. 19, 1952, at the Assembly of God Church in Exeter, California, and to this union four children were born. The family moved to a farm in Fair Play, June 1970.
Betty was a member of the Harvest Assembly of God Church in Fair Play. She liked sports, flowers, gardening, but most of all she loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Wade Jerone Bolen; and 11 siblings.
Betty is survived by her husband of 70 years Berry; three children, Rodney Bolen (Susie), Kathie Thompson, Travis Bolen (Kathy); a daughter-in-law Tammy Bolen; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Harvest Assembly of God Church, Fair Play, with Pastor Lyle Shaulis officiating.
