James Foley Obituary

James Howard Foley, 56 of Humansville, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, at his home, surrounded by family.
?James was born in Excelsior Springs on Jan. 20, 1969, to parents, Howard and Mary Foley.
He attended and graduated from Humansville High School in 1988, after which he joined the U.S. Army. He served for three years and three months, in that time obtaining the rank of E4 Specialist and serving in Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield. After serving in the military, he again joined public service, spending 27 years working at Clay County Highway Department.
?During his career there, he worked his way up to and was supervisor for several years before retiring.
?Some of his hobbies were fishing, hunting, trains, and spending time with family. If there was a hole of water anywhere, he had a line in it. He loved Independence Day - the bigger the fireworks display, the better. He always wanted the show to be bigger than last year's. He also was an avid Civil War reenactor with his brother Geno for about five years.
?He married Silli on Leap Day in 2016, making them married nine years, although he would jokingly tell you it was only four.
?James was preceded in death by his mother, Mary.
?He is survived by his wife Silli; his children, Nadine and her partner Mitch Kramer of Tupelo, Mississippi, and son Brandon Foley; his father Howard; and brothers, John Foley, and Geno Foley, and wife Stacy, all from Humansville. He also leaves behind a host of nephews, Robert, Allen, Clarence Raymond, and Wyatt; a niece, Jacque; two stepdaughters, Brittany and Kristen; and one granddaughter, little Miss Nova, along with family and friends who will miss him dearly.
?Graveside services were Monday, Oct. 6, at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Humansville.
