Emil Kuhn Obituary

Emil "Dub" W. Kuhn, Jr. 86 of Boonville passed away Saturday evening April 24 at Ashley Manor Care Center in Boonville.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 27 from 12 to 1p.m. at Davis Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will follow at 1p.m. with Rev. Lewis Odneal officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Emil was born on August 12, 1923 in Prairie Home, MO, the son of Emil Wilbur and Mary Cole Kuhn. He graduated from Prairie Home High School in 1942. He married Faye Hickam on October 20, 1942. Emil worked at the Munition Power Plant in Eudora, KS for a time, then enlisted in the United States Army on March 27, 1944 in the 422nd Rocket Battalion where he received the following decorations: Victory Ribbon, American Ribbon and Philippine Liberation Ribbon. Emil was honorably discharged on May 11, 1946. He worked for the MKT Railroad in KC, Mo and later returned to Prairie Home to farm and work for Massman's River Construction until retiring in 1996 and moving to Boonville, MO. His interest included fishing, raising cattle and playing cards with his friends at Grotjan's Service Station across the river.
Emil was preceded in death by his brother Calvin Cole Kuhn and a son Stephen Wayne Kuhn. He is survived by his wife of the home, two sons, Dan Kuhn and wife Peggy of Osage Beach, MO; Randy Kuhn and wife Jeannie of Callao, MO; two daughters, Linda Waibel and husband Albert Jr. of Boonville, Mo and Sherri Wright and husband William of Wooldridge, MO; eleven grandchildren, two step grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Westminster Church or the Pisgah Cemetery fund.
