Gordon Pearce Obituary



Gordon Bernard Pearce, 84, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2025.

A memorial gathering will be planned at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to Hutchinson County Library, 625 N. Weatherly, Borger, Texas 79007 or to the Hutchinson County Museum, 618 N. Main, Borger, Texas, 79007.

Gordon was born May 1, 1941, in Hominy, Oklahoma to James B. Pearce and Eunice M. Frailey Pearce. He married Marilyn Bradley on May 31, 1964, in Cushing, Oklahoma. Gordon lived in Borger since 1982, retiring from Phillips Petroleum Company after 35 years of service. During those years he worked in Georgia, Florida, England, New Mexico, and on two different occasions in Stavanger, Norway. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Borger. Gordon enjoyed hunting, collecting firearms, reading and having holiday get togethers. His most treasured accomplishments were having a wonderful wife and two fantastic children.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Eunice Pearce; and sister, Joan Hendrickson; and nephews, Mark Hendrickson, and James Hendrickson.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of Borger; daughter, Deborah Martin and husband Joe; son, Steven Pearce and wife Lynn; grandchildren, Tyler Pearce, Colby Pearce, Elizabeth Martin, Victoria Martin; nephew, Charles Hendrickson; and his beloved dog, Palmer.
