Luke Archer Obituary

Robert Luke Archer, 37, was welcomed into the arms of our Lord early in the morning of Friday, October 22nd, 2021.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 27th, 2021 from 5 PM to 7 PM at St. John's Catholic Church in Borger, with the Rosary and Vigil to begin at 7 PM with Fr. Shane Wieck officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 28th, 2021 at St. John's with Fr. Jim Schmitmeyer officiating. Cremation is entrusted to Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors and he will be interred at Westlawn Memorial Park.

Luke was born on February 8th, 1984 in Amarillo, Texas to Robert Glen Archer and Marilyn Kay Archer. He had a gift as an artist, taking private lessons in grade school, art classes in middle and high school, often winning blue ribbons in art shows for his compositions. He graduated from Borger High School in 2002 and briefly pursued a degree in computer graphic design. Luke returned to Borger and spent the remainder of his life here, studying the vastness of the hardware and building materials industry. He used his knowledge and skills to improve the lives of everyone around him, putting their needs before his own.

Luke earned his role as a foundational keystone to Morton Lumber Company and the employees there. Away from work he enjoyed spending time with friends, often developing deep personal bonds with those frequently around him. From the earliest possible age Luke owned every gaming console and the latest games to go with them, as well as mastering most of them on a level unrivaled. He enjoyed music and attending concerts.

Ever the gentle soul, Luke found all animals beloved, caring for innumerable cats over his lifetime. Recently, he gave of himself most to his niece and nephew, Katelyn and Charles, always halting his current efforts to patiently indulge their insatiable childish desires.

Luke was preceded in death by his grandparents Richard Archer, Sr., Charles and Sally Jane Wilkinson, and Charles and Mary Cooke.

Enduring here to revere his memory are his parents, Robert and wife Marilyn Archer of Borger, Texas, older brother Emmett Colin Archer and wife Sarah Nicole of Borger, Texas, younger sister Melanie Archer Hahn and husband Kevin of Norman, Oklahoma, niece and nephew Katelyn Liberty Archer and Charles Joseph Archer, uncle Richard Archer, Jr. and wife Jo of Paducah, Texas, aunt Carla Jane Archer of Amarillo, TX, uncle Dean Cooke of Borger, Texas, uncle Clayton E. Cooke and wife Lynne of Amarillo, Texas, Leslie Ann Cowden and husband John of Granbury, Texas, cousins Elizabeth Archer, Richard Emmett Archer, III and wife Brecka, Kimberly Jo Leas and husband Daniel, Marcus Simpson, Tamara Tate and husband Matt, Chandler Cooke and wife Mindy, Chelsea Green and husband Dallas, Hillary Cowden, Blair Wagner and husband Miles, Shelby Cooke, Jon Harrison, Jennifer Harrison, Janessa Harrison, first cousins once removed Delanie Free and Carter Cooke, Olivia Green, Adeline Grace Cooke, Lily Jane and Barrett Archer Leas, Taegan and Tynlee Tate, John Tucker and Bliss Bailey Archer.

The family requests for Memorials to be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Amarillo, 1501 Streit Dr. Amarillo, TX 79106, https://www.rmhcofamarillo.org/
