AIMEE NOWAK Obituary

NOWAK, Aimee Freeman 95, passed away July 4, 2015 at her home in Wayland, MA. She is survived by her loving children and step-children, including Michelle Freeman and her husband Philip Scholomiti, Robert Freeman and his wife Rosemary, Suzanne Freeman, Cynthia Nowak, Brian Nowak and his wife Ruthie, and Stephanie Nowak and her husband Dennis Ruud. She is also survived by her sister Priscilla (Perras) Hamilton, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Rubee Perras, her husband George Freeman, her husband Karl Nowak, and her siblings Louis Perras, Jr., Madeleine Brisson, Andre Perras, and David Perras. She graduated from Roosevelt High in New Bedford, obtained a degree from Lasell College, and worked as a secretary at a Boston engineering firm, where she met her first husband, George Freeman. They enjoyed 37 wonderful years together, raising their three children in Wayland. Aimee had a quick wit, a lively sense of humor, and a warm and generous heart. She was a longtime volunteer for Lahey Clinic and WGBH, and sponsored numerous children through various advocacy organizations. She was a consummate cook, hosting many wonderful get-togethers for her wide circle of friends, and was an active participant in the homegrown Gourmet Club. She loved the arts, and frequented the Museum of Fine Arts, the Boston Symphony, the Boston Ballet, and Tanglewood. She was a crossword puzzle aficionado, and could still win handily at Scrabble into her later years. At the age of 70, she married her soul mate, Karl Nowak, with whom she shared over 20 loving years. After honeymooning in Tahiti, they relished every moment of their time together, traveling the world, entertaining with friends, and spending time with their combined families. Aimee was a devout Catholic throughout her life. She could light up a room and bring a smile to the saddest face. She will be deeply missed. Visiting hours will be at the John C. Bryant Funeral home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), WAYLAND on Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 10:00 o'clock at Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherin Church, 99 Main Street (Rte 27), Wayland. Interment will follow in the Freeman family lot in Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to a favorite charity would be most welcome.
