CELESTE, Albert L. age 93, of Peabody, formerly of East Boston and Boston's North End, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 5, 2024. Beloved son of the late Filippo and Giuseppina (Veneziano) Celeste, originally from Riesi, Sicily. Cherished husband of 68 years to the late Grace (Zirpolo) Celeste. Loving father of Denise Musto and her husband, Michael, Albert Celeste, Jr. of Nevada, Philip and partner, Ana Rosa, Salvatore and partner, Paula Piecewicz. Adored grandfather to Gina Musto, Michael Musto, Jr. and his wife, Angela, Daniel Musto and wife, Allison, Carla Musto, Christopher Anderson, Esq., Sofia Celeste and Franco Celeste. Cherished great-grandfather to Olivia, Vittoria, Michael, III, Domenic and Grace. Albert was the youngest of eight and outlived all of his siblings, the late Gaetano (Tony) Celeste and wife, Angelina, Mary and husband, Louis Piazza, Giuseppe (Joe King) Celeste, Vincent J. Celeste, Esq. and wife, Marie (Mimi still lives in Florida), the late Angelo (Scungie) Celeste and wife, Vera, Charles (Calogero) Celeste and Salvatore (Zappo) Celeste and wife, Alva. He is also survived by many loving nephews, nieces, neighbors and friends; as well as his (last surviving) first cousin, Phil Veneziano of Colorado. The closest of his cherished friends were the late Salvatore and Lorraine Indorato. "Alby" was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, Korean War era and spent his career as a Civil Engineer, Right-of-Way Division, for the Commonwealth of Mass. and later, a real estate appraiser. A Visitation will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., PEABODY, Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Service in the funeral home, at 10:30 a.m. A Burial will follow with full Military Honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA, at 1:30 pm.
