So sorry to hear about Al's passing. Al was a great team mate on the North Andover High School football and baseball teams. I still remember our times on the fields. A superb catcher and tough football player. A great all around guy, and athlete. I'm sure he'll be sorely missed by family and the community.

I wish great strength to the Lanai family at this difficult time. I have such warm thoughts of Mr. Lanni. He was always so proud of his wife and family. He was a very approachable teacher who always made every student fell welcome. One of the reasons I became a teacher is from the influences I had in high school. Mr. Lanni is at the top of that list.

Mr Lanni was the first and only teacher that saw my struggles and bothered to ask me what's going on at home. He sat and actually listened to everything going on and he was instrumental in getting me in the work release program. He also helped me get assistance from the state by pointing me in the right direction and obtaining resources to get glasses because he realized I couldn't see the board at all (he signed my year book "gotta love those glasses kid" ! He stayed after school and tutored me in Algebra. By the end of the year one day it all 'clicked' and I ran to him and he had tears in his eyes I was so happy to 'get it'. He was a truly amazing man. I'd love for his family to know just what he did for me and what he has meant to me all these years later. I am so deeply saddened. The Earth has lost an angel. I have never forgotten his kindness and compassion and like to believe that every time I pay it forward he is smiling that awesome smile.
