Loretta D. (DiFilippo) Lanni, a lifetime resident of North Attleboro, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on October 25, 2025, at the age of ninety-two.
Born in Attleboro on February 3, 1933, Loretta was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Cavalieri) DiFilippo. She grew up in North Attleboro, attended St. Mary's Parochial School, and graduated from North Attleboro High School. Loretta worked for many years as a medical secretary in the maternity unit at Sturdy Memorial Hospital-a position she cherished and took great pride in.
Loretta had a zest for life and a warm, spirited personality. She loved playing canasta, was an avid reader, loved to travel, especially to Italy, and adored going to Broadway plays. She found joy in music, especially Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé, and was fiercely proud of her Italian heritage.
Decorating for the holidays, particularly Christmas, was one of her favorite traditions. Loretta's greatest love was her family-her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, which brought her endless joy. From the sporting events to watching Family Feud, and making biscotti's with her great-grandchildren.
Loretta was the beloved mother of Michele DiFederico and her husband, Paul of Plymouth, and Keith Lanni and his wife, Melissa of Plainville. She was the devoted grandmother of Nicole Swanekamp and her husband Scott of Bourne, and Gina Congel and her husband Colby of Hanson. She was the cherished great-grandmother of Madison, Avery, Reese, Lyla, and Hannah. Loretta is also survived by her brother Guido DiFilippo and was predeceased by her brothers Adam and Mario DiFilippo.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Loretta's life on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, with visiting hours from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 373 Court Street, Plymouth, followed by Words of Remembrance at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Loretta's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or online at www.stjude.org-a charity that was near and dear to her heart.
