Something reminded me of Mrs. Walsh this morning and I had to find out if she was still with us. Sadly, I'm a few years late and she has passed. But I wanted to take a moment to share all that I am thankful for: I'm thankful that she had a nice long life. I am thankful that she didn't have to suffer through the devastating pandemic. I am forever thankful for her devotion to her students, I among them. I was such a sensitive child -- I'm sure many middle-school aged kids are -- and she was one of the few teachers who met us where we were at. She never gave up on us. She would tell us that she wouldn't. In the many, many years since I was her student, I have not once forgotten all of her quips ("Don't leave me up a creek without a paddle!"). I carry such respect and admiration for Mrs. Walsh and how she showed up every day with such unwavering compassion. She was one tough cookie and I will miss her. May her memory be a blessing.

Dear Joe and family. I am sorry to learn of Barbara's passing. She was a person whom I greatly admired and will miss seeing her around the neighborhood.

My sincere condolences to Joe, Jay, Kevin, Mark, and Kerrie. Barbara shared so many wonderful stories of you all. She was one of my most favorite people, an exemplary educator, an ideal mentor, and a warm caring friend. I had the opportunity to work with Barbara in her classroom at Briscoe Middle School. She taught me so much about techniques and various instructional methods, but I also marveled at her skill with reaching every student who was fortunate enough to be in her class.
She commanded respect and it was obvious how much she cared for her students and how much they admired her.
She will be greatly missed.
Fondly, Kathy Gillis

Mrs. Walsh truly cared for her students. She was my 7th grade English teacher. After our class together finished, she called my home shortly after the beginning of the next 3 school years to make sure I was doing well. She was an incredible person and an awesome teacher.

Ms. Collins was my teacher in Southern Junior High School in the early 1960s. Such was the impact she made, I can actually recall her words as she taught us. Ms. Collins married another teacher of that time - one Joseph Walsh, who I account to be one of the greatest instructors and mentors of all time. I thank you both for all your professional efforts and for being such extraordinary people.

Our sincere condolences to the Walsh and Collins families on the loss of your beloved Barbara. We recall that when we attended the luncheon at all of the Bill Collins memorial golf tournaments at Chockalog, Barbara was always most gracious in greeting us with a "thank you" for being there for Bill and all of the Collins clan. May she rest in eternal peace. Rick and Mary Lawler

Everyone at Harrows in Reading is so sorry to hear of Barbara's passing. As a longtime customer, we had the chance to get to know her a little over the years. She had a quiet yet kind way about her. She never missed an opportunity to ask Jilly about her daughter, and was genuinely happy to hear the answer. We will all miss her.
We extend our deepest condolences to Barbara's family and we hope they are comforted by their memories of her. Rest peacefully, Barbara.

Dear Walsh family, I am so sorry to hear of Mrs Walsh's passing. I had her for seventh grade social studies. She was a favorite of mine. In recent years, I saw her often as she would drive by my house, and stop if I was outside, She'd roll down her window, and always say hello sunshine and always complimented my hair. I will miss that. May she Rest In Peace.

Kerri and family,
I am so very sorry to hear this news. Your mother was one of the sweetest, kindest women I had the pleasure of meeting in my days of customer service. She was so genuine, and I will always remember our brief conversations over a quick coffee or muffin at Gingerbread. Thinking of you all in this difficult time.
