Barry was a character and I enjoyed talking to him. I was privileged to get to know him and Joan when I helped them coordinate their care and lives a few years back before Joan passed away unexpectedly. Their home,Joan's gardens and her wonderful culinary creation were the heart of their family life. I remember him sharing his stories of how he met Joan and his early years at Pfizer. Barry oh how he loved to read his daily NY Times and make sure he got his mail! Im sure he and Joan are together in eternity and am sorry for your loss.

Dr Barry Bloom served Pfizer, Connecticut College, and his community so richly all his life. I am so grateful for his advice to me as I began my service as the College's president at the age of 43. His wisdom was irrepaceable!! He was a great man. God Bless His Life and Life in Heaven...

To the family and friends of Barry Bloom, you have my deepest sympathy. The pain of death is great but the love for your loved one is greater and will comfort and sustain you forever ( Song of Solomon 8:6).

I am very saddened by the passing of Dr. Bloom and extend my sympathy to the whole Bloom family. I knew Dr. Bloom early in my career at Pfizer Central Research in the late 1980s when I was working in Animal Health. I can remember the anxious preparation for our annual management meeting with him at the Old Lyme Inn. And when the day arrived, how in awe I was of his ability to hone in on exactly the right questions and key issues. He was a towering leader who transformed Pfizer from a lower tier also-ran to the very top of the Pharmaceutical Industry. I left Pfizer in 2003 and am now semi-retired in St Petersburg FL. But strangely, I had a dream about Pfizer last night in which Dr. Bloom appeared. This morning I googled him and was astonished to learn that he had just passed on Saturday. With deepest sympathy,

To the Bloom Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
