A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Sept. 11 at Sacred Heart Church, 21 Follen Rd., Lexington at 1:00pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Friends can also join a livestream of the Mass by connecting to a link within Barry's obituary on the Douglass Funeral home website (www.douglassfh.com). Donations in his memory may be made to the American Prairie Reserve (americanprairie.org). Interment private. Lexington

My deepest sympathy to Barry´s friends and family. Barry was one of the nicest people I´ve had the pleasure to work with. He was always smiling and it was contagious. He will be missed.

Barry was an amazing person. I first met Barry while interviewing at Lincoln Labs in 1987, and we discovered that our home towns in the Midwest were only about 100 miles apart. In fact my sister lived and still lives in Anita, Iowa, and knew Barry's mother.
I stayed in California, and within a couple of years Barry and I started a technical collaboration where we would share ideas and meet up at technical conferences. When we started our own image sensor work I relied a great deal on Barry's excellent technical papers and advice. Just in the last year a joint project between our Labs started, and I was able to meet with Barry and the Lincoln Lab's group on a regular basis (via Zoom, of course).
Barry was an exceptional scientist, and a wonderful person on top of that. Spending time with Barry was always a joy for me. RIP.
