BENJAMIN SHAMBAUGH Obituary

SHAMBAUGH, Dr. Benjamin Son of Edith (Capps) Shambaugh and Dr. George E. Shambaugh, passed away on December 27, 2018, at the age of 96, shortly following his wife Adele. Born on January 26, 1922, in Chicago, Illinois, Ben was Phi Beta Kappa at Amherst College and did his medical training at Harvard University. After serving in the Korean War, he trained in psychoanalysis at the Boston Psychoanalytic Institute. He lived and practiced in Cambridge, MA., and also taught at Harvard Medical School, and the Boston Psychoanalytic Institute. After retiring, he and wife Adele spent much of their time enjoying Europe. His passion lay in his love for nature, classical literature and bookbinding. He is survived by his three children: Benjamin Shambaugh, Jeannette (Shambaugh) de Vigan, and Nathaniel Shambaugh. A private Memorial Service will be held for both Ben and Adele at The Mount Auburn Cemetery. Condolences can be sent by way of Roger's Funeral Home.
