Dear Sumner, Sara and Jesse,
I found this page today, Dec.16,2011 and was so glad I did. I think about my nephew, Ben , all the time and remember him with so much love. We will never forget the wonderful visit to Florida in 2010. He was a joy to be around and filled our hearts with smiles and laughter. He will be missed.

Margo, my heart is absolutely broken for you. I've never seen two people more in love than Ben and you. Ben and I had many conversations that sometimes stretched deep into the night, as you know Ben was a night owl...! He said many times how deeply he loved you, how much he admired your strength because you were his rock always, never failing in your support. He told me he'd be absolutely lost without you and when he had a problem you'd bend over backwards to fix it and worry about it as if it were your own. He also said you were the most loyal person he's ever met. You were real and true soulmates. I'm so sorry for the Slavin family, and I'm so sorry for you. My heart aches thinking about how you must feel.

My gut twists when I even try to imagine what you are feeling. I met Benjamin only once during a journal club at your house. At the time he was such a sweet and darling little boy. I remember you speaking about him often and in such a glowing way. There really is no justice in this world; you are such a fine man and him a promising boy. I wish you, Jessie, and Sara all the love and comfort Hashem can offer.
Something tells me that he and Bob are probably now having a few laughs together at your expense!

I've known Ben socially for 7 years. There was no one on earth I'd be happier to run into than Ben. He was always with his beautiful girlfriend Margo, and he'd greet me with a huge smile and hug. He was one of the most popular people I've ever known. It was impossible not to love him.

Ben was a great friend to me, and an incredible person with unmatched charisma, wit, and an incredible sense humor. I have been trying to get into medical school, and ben has been so supportive and always spoke so highly of you as a physician.
