BRIAN WALLACE Obituary

WALLACE, Brian Devoted husband of Lorna Roderick; and cherished father of three daughters, Brooke Wallace of San Diego, CA, Brittany Wallace (husband, Pepper Pharr) of Brooklyn, NY and Meredith Wallace of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the enduring love of his family, on January 7, 2025. He was the proud grandfather of two (soon to be three) grandchildren; and a steadfast brother of twin sisters, Karen Murray of Milton, MA and Linda Butler of Greenwich, CT; as well as his late sister, Maureen Wallace. Born during the Great Depression in Brighton, MA, to the late Steven and Kathleen Wallace, Brian was raised by an indomitable mother. An avid bibliophile, he graduated at the top of his high school class, earning him a coveted place at his alma mater, Brown University, which he cherished immensely. At Brown, Brian distinguished himself academically, athletically and interpersonally, forging lifelong bonds through the football and the Brown community while earning numerous accolades. Following his graduation, he honorably served two years in the U.S. Army. Upon returning, he pursued a career as a dedicated and innovative teacher in underserved Boston-area school districts, known for his creative and unorthodox methods. While teaching, Brian worked part-time at his Aunt Daisy's bar, where he discovered his passion for the entertainment industry. This newfound interest led him to become a highly successful nightclub partner. It was at one of his nightclubs, Lucifers, where he met the love of his life, Lorna Roderick-the radiant woman who walked in with a red flower in her hair. Happily together for over 50 years, they built a beautiful family and established their forever home on Cape Cod. With his business success, Brian retired early, allowing him to immerse himself in his many passions: boating, tennis, classical music, gardening, voracious reading, Brown football, and, above all, spending cherished time with his family. Brian had an extraordinary gift for friendship, maintaining deep connections with countless people throughout his 92 years. He was larger than life and irreplaceable, his presence and endless stories will be profoundly missed by all fortunate enough to have known him. A celebration of his remarkable life will be held at a later date.

Dear Lorna,
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Brian was a true friend of mine and of Brown. We shared many lunches during the football season and many afternoons on the field together. We were two Boston boys with similair backgrounds and shared a close bond. He was loved and will be missed.

To all the wonderful Wallace family,
I enjoyed meeting your DAD. I want you all to know your dad talked about his love of his girls and of course Lorna every day that we had our PT sessions.
He would say he is the luckiest and happiest man with his family .
Know you are in my thoughts and prayers

Uncle Brian (my namesake) was always Uncle Brian to myself and my family. When I shared Uncle Brian´s passing with my wife she immediately remembered a boat ride we shared with him more then a few years ago. He was a great man.
I also spent about a year and a half working with Uncle Brian in Kenmore Square. He was always bigger then life to me. I certainly have a life time of fond memories.
Thank you Uncle Brian for being such an inspiration to myself and to so many lives that you´ve touched over your life time.
We will see you again in Paradise.

Brian taught me more about life than all of my teachers combined. His wisdom, friendship, and generousity left an indelible mark on my life - and so many others. I'll miss his stories, (unmatched!) his humor, and his sage advice, but carry it with me forever. The word Legend doesn't do him justice. Cheers to an amazing life, and to an ever-lasting legacy.
I know you're up there mesmerizing everyone with your stories - and showing no mercy on God's tennis courts!
I'll see you again my friend. I'll bring my racquet and remember never to go to the net on your forehand! Love you Brian. Thanks for everything
