CHERYL EGAN Obituary

EGAN, Cheryl Laurin Age 64, passed away unexpectedly on November 11, 2018, from complications related to surgery. Cheryl was born in Boston, MA on October 11, 1954, to Paul and Eleanor DeFilippo Egan. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1972 and received her BS Degree from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA and worked in retail management in the Boston area. Cheryl moved to Dallas in 1995 to be near her brother Brian Egan and his family. There, she began the vocation she truly loved as a school teacher. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Texas and taught for more than ten years in the Dallas Independent School District, and for the last ten years she taught at Catholic schools in Dallas. She is survived by her mother Eleanor Egan; her brother Brian Egan and sister-in-law Carol Jamison Egan of Dallas; and two nieces, Lauren Egan, and Erin Egan. A brief service will be held at Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut St., Newton Centre, MA 02459, Friday, January 11, 2019, at 11:00 am. A gathering for lunch will follow.
