COLIN STEELE Obituary

Steele, Colin Timothy 62, of North Andover passed away May 22 after a lengthy illness. A Watertown native, Colin was a proud Double Eagle, graduating from Boston College High School in 1969 and Boston College in 1973 before attending Babson College's master's program. Colin worked for many years as an insurance broker, most recently as senior vice president at Willis, Inc. in Boston. He loved going to the beach, watching sports and spending time with his family. Colin is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Marybeth (Upton) Steele, their two sons, Colin Thomas Steele and his fiancee Jessica McElaney of Belmont, and Matthew T. Steele and his wife Jennifer (Lwowski) Steele of Methuen, and his adored baby grandson Matthew H. Steele. Colin was the son of the late Colin H. and Helen (Sullivan) Steele of Watertown, son-in-law of the late Thomas E. and Alice Upton of Revere and brother-in-law of the late Thomas S. Upton of Stoneham. He also leaves behind many caring and supportive friends and relatives. Colin will be greatly missed. Colin's family would like to thank the staff at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for the wonderful care he received there, especially from Dr. David Barbie, Cathleen P. Power, Allison Hester and Jennifer S. Gorelov. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Wednesday, May 28th at 10AM at St. Michael Church, 196 Main Street, North Andover. Interment will follow at the Ridgewood Cemetery, North Andover. Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 in the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover. For those who wish, donations may be made in Colin's memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Attn.: Dr. David Barbie's Research Lab, 450 Brookline Ave. D1240, Boston, Mass. 02215.
