My father in law was a great man and a dedicated teacher. I will miss his smile, his hugs and his twinkly irish eyes.

Neil Scanlon was my most memorable law professor. He cared deeply about his students, most especially his evening school students. To him I owe much of my own classroom style. Heaven has gained a great storyteller.

As a former student of Neil's at UConn (Class of '62) and friend and colleague in the labor field, I treasured his friendship and kindness. My deepest and sincere sympathy to his family.

There are not enough words I can find to express my thoughts and feelings on "Uncle" Neil. I know that he is no longer in pain and is now at peace. He is with my Dad in a wonderful place. Prayers are not needed for those 2 wonderful men who are now looking down on their families.
The hard thing is for the ones left behind. Pat (and family) my thoughts and prayers are with you. Neil was a great person who will never be forgotten and will always be in our minds and hearts!!!
My love to all,
Colleen

Neil was such a wonderful person. I can still recall our first meeting in the basement of St. Mary's church some 40 years ago. We had the first of our many friendly debates. Neil's mind was a thing of beauty. His spirit was indominatble. He was a dear friend and I will miss him greatly.
Pat, my prayers (and Ruth's) are with you and your family. Neil needs no prayers. he is home at last where he will enjoy the Lord's presence - and probably a good debate or two.
Love,
bill
