CORNELIUS SPEARS Obituary

SPEARS, Cornelius "Conny" Of Weymouth, passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on January 4, 2024. Conny was born in Boston to the late Eric and Nora Spears. He grew up in Dorchester and was a graduate Brighton High School. Conny had a career as a service manager in auto mechanics working for Standish Chevrolet and Norwood Cadillac. Upon retirement, Conny still kept busy working for Preferred Auto in Weymouth. He enjoyed gardening and working on his yard, bowling, golfing, and following New England sports. Most of all, Conny loved to attend his children and grandchildren's sporting events and spend time with his family. Beloved husband of 68 years to Alice (Donovan) Spears of Weymouth. Loving father of Donna Kelly and her husband Chuck of Kingston, Ginny Farrar and her husband Dave of Dallas, GA, Elizabeth Capozzoli and her husband Steve of Weymouth, Brian Spears of Abington, and the late William Spears. Dear brother of Anna Grady of Millis, Noreen Dorsey of Middleboro, Sheila Mancuso and her husband Franny of Middleboro and the late Mary Lou Spears. Cherished grandpa of Paul Cornelius Andersen, Jonathan Farrar, Patrick Farrar, Meghan Kelly, and Charlie Kelly. Great-grandpa to Carson Farrar. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the Visiting Hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, EAST WEYMOUTH, at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 8:45 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth, at 10 AM. Burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association or the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Oh Allie we are so sad to just learn of your husbands passing this minute! You are all such a wonderful family who all the Paul & Mary Smith´s family have known and loved for many years!!
