I would like to say everything I said below, but add that I think about him...miss him...and love him every day and will continue to do so for the rest of my life.

What do you say about one of the kindest, most gentle, most talented, most successful, yet most unpretentious people who ever lived on this earth? A person who, together with his best friend, his beloved brother, Irwin, cared for both of their parents, Aunt Tina and Uncle Norman, at home, where he knew they wished to be, until the day they died. Together, they fed them, bathed them and loved them to the very end.
What do you say about one who excelled in every thing he chose to do? He was an expert fisherman: a brilliant business man who, together with Irwin, built up the company that their father had begun and turned it into a most successful business, The Chelsea Drum Company; he was a master model ship builder whose ships should be in maritime museums where his name would, without a doubt, become world famous! Imagine the patience of this beautiful person, my cousin, Davy, who spent ten full years building one of his masterpiecesevery single part of it by hand, including the sales which he made with his special sewing apparatus!
But, despite my urging and nagging, he never chose to show off his shipsnever chose to brag about any of his accomplishments because, for others to know what he did was totally unimportant to him. HE knew what he did and that's what mattered mostwhat gave him his greatest satisfaction!
I can remember Davy boasting only once and only slightly, when, with a big smile he shared with me that he and Irwin had taken care of all of their great=nieces and nephews by making sure they would never have to worry about college tuitions.
Even when Davy became ill, he tried not to bother anyone. When I would call and ask to speak with him, he would apologize at the start of the conversation, explaining that he was forgetful, I, in turn, would always tell him that I enjoyed talking to him more than I did to most people. That is the absolute truth, for it isn't too often that I or anyone has the pleasure of speaking with a truly, genuine person such as he was!
Davy could have lived a different life style. He certainly had the means to do so. Yet he preferred the simple way of life. His wardrobe was terrible and I never stopped nagging him about that, but all he did was laugh and let me know he had no intention of changing it.
His best times were those spent with family and likewise, some of our best times were those spent with him and Irwin. My children's special memories are of the Friday nights when Davy and Irwin came to our home after work, carrying with them all the ingredients needed to make the most delicious pizzas on earth!
Sooooo, what do you say about my cousin, Davy; my cousin whom I considered to be more like my brother than my cousin? You say, as I say, I was so lucky to have grown up with you, to have had you as such a special part of my life! I loved you always and I will love you forever.
May you rest in peace, my dear, sweet Davy.
