DAVID GOFF Obituary

GOFF, Dr. David J. Passed away peacefully on April 23, 2023, surrounded by his family at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. Dave was born in Ridgewood, NJ, to Robert and Nancy Goff and grew up in Ridgewood, NJ. At an early age, he excelled in academics and music mastering both the piano and violin. He attended St. Paul's School ('89), Dartmouth University ('93) and graduated from Georgetown University Medical School in 1997. He then completed six years of a neurosurgical residency before transitioning to radiation oncology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University where he completed his residency in Radiation Oncology in 2004, followed by a fellowship at Beth Israel in Manhattan. Throughout his medical career, he cared for countless cancer patients, friends and people whom he had never met that were simply referred to him because of his knowledge and dedication to medicine. He treated all with compassion, respect and dignity. Dave's true love was his family. He lived for them and was always available for his daughters and son as they grew up. They enjoyed trips to Killington, Rye Beach, Cape Cod, Long Beach Island, and Disney World. His passions included surfing, skiing, gardening, hosting bonfires, and making people laugh with his unique humor. He is survived by his loving wife, Anita; and children, Ava (21), Hannah (20), and Garrett (13). He is also survived by his mother, Nancy; and brother, Jonathan; he was predeceased by his father, Robert. Visiting Hours: A celebration of Dave's life will be held to bring together his family and friends from around the world and remember his love of everyone who helped shape his life.

Dr. Goff was a man of his own kind.
All who had the pleasure of working with him, was a gift! He was brilliant! Dave was unbelievably caring to both
his patients & his Rad Oncology Team.
David Goff was truly a gem in the rough. His unique personality and his
quirky sense of humor, made working him a pure joy, although we had our moments. His passion of being a Radiation Oncologist was pure! David would definitely do anything to help his patients, along with any of his staff member needing advice. I miss him so! I am still wrapping my head around the fact
he is gone! My condolences to his family! I am sure this all must so painful. Anita, his girls Ava, Hannah and so Garrett . I am here if you need any help! My heart feels so sad!
In all the years working with David
his famous words were,
"PLAN DONE"!
I think I will never forget that quote bellowing thru the halls! God Bless You, David! May U rest in peace! You will be sorely be missed for many many years of anybody who had the wonderful opportunity to work with Dabid. They say, heaven is a really awesome place.

It is with great sadness that we learned of Dr Goff´s passing. My husband was treated by Dr Goff in his fight with cancer.. he treated him with compassion and concern. We always enjoyed talking with him... we are so very sorry for the loss of this wonderful man.. our very sincere sympathy to his family, friends, colleagues and patients.
